Awards to Maryland foundations, businesses, and individuals in eligible locations to recognize exceptional philanthropic efforts. The awards are intended to honor outstanding leadership achievements and dedication to the community. Nominees should demonstrate exceptional generosity through direct financial support or service, and outstanding civic and charitable work in Anne Arundel County.
2023 Celebration of Philanthropy Award Categories:
Philanthropist of the Year Award: Presented to an individual, a family, or a family foundation who has demonstrated outstanding civic and philanthropic responsibility through direct, exceptional financial support and leadership in advancing philanthropy. Corporate Philanthropist of the Year Award: Presented to a local business or corporation that demonstrates outstanding civic and philanthropic responsibility through direct financial support and leadership in the community. Carroll H. Hynson, Jr. Award for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Philanthropy: Presented to an individual, group, or organization that supports philanthropy through DEI efforts. For additional information, see: https://cfaac.org/2023DEIAward

Legacy Award for Planned Giving: Recognizes a family or an individual philanthropist who has made a significant contribution to one or more local nonprofits using a planned gift. For additional information, see: https://cfaac.org/2023Legacy_Award
Local individuals, businesses, and foundations are eligible to be nominated.
All nominees must:
- Be a resident of Anne Arundel County
- Have a demonstrated track record of charitable giving to one or more nonprofit organizations based in and working in Anne Arundel County
- Have made a positive impact in the lives of county residents through their giving
- Encourage/motivate others to become philanthropic
Ineligible
Self-nominations are not permitted. For the category of Young Volunteer of the Year, parents are not permitted to nominate their child(ren).
Pre-Application Information
The deadline for nominations has been extended to Friday, August 11, 2023,11:59 p.m.
Nominees will receive notification from CFAAC upon receipt of the nomination form. The letter will include information on the selection process.
Honorees will be notified in September and recognized at the Celebration of Philanthropy Awards Luncheon on November 17, 2023.
