Grants of up to $10,000 to St. Joseph County, Indiana organizations for the marketing and hosting of events with positive tourism potential to the local area. Funding is intended to assist qualified organizations with the promotion of tourism activities striving to directly increase hotel or motel occupancy and increase positive publicity for St. Joseph County.

All events must be held in St. Joseph County and open to the public and every submission must show the potential to generate overnight hotel stays.

Eligible expenditures for reimbursement:

  • Advertising focused outside St. Joseph County - media resources  based in SJC but with regional focus are acceptable
  • Production of promotional pieces; brochures, poster, direct mail, etc. specify methods of distribution, production costs, and any other expenses
  • Website development
  • Facility rental enabling event to take place

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must be organizations seeking to produce and promote a well-defined tourism-oriented festival, event or promotional campaign.

All events must be held within St. Joseph County. Any marketing efforts must direct potential visitors to an attraction or destination within St. Joseph County.

Organizations receiving direct allocations from SJC Innkeepers’ Tax are ineligible

No event can be political in nature or focus or can promote lodging facilities located outside St. Joseph County.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline for applications is January 10, 2020 by 5:00 PM EST.

Multiple submissions can be submitted by the same agency, however, only one submission per event
