Grant Description

Grants of up to $30,000 and grants of up to $50,000 to Georgia entrepreneurs, individuals at legacy institutions, and local chapters of national nonprofit organizations in eligible areas for creative initiatives that benefit the local Jewish community. Funded projects must serve the Jewish Atlanta community.

Propel Grant Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) applications are open each winter. This is your opportunity to demonstrate your passion for a project that can spark long-term systemic change and social good in Jewish Atlanta. The Federation is looking for leaders with the drive and commitment to launch sustainable projects for social good. The Federation is investing in transformative, creative, scalable, and community-driven projects and technologies that reimagine Jewish life in Atlanta and catalyze positive change.

The Federation is proud to support: 

  • New projects (entrepreneurs)
  • New ideas at legacy institutions (intrapraneurs)
  • Local chapters of national non-profits
Successful applications will meet a pressing community need for Jewish Atlanta. They will demonstrate strong leadership potential. They will also be considered favorably for potential collaboration opportunities, scalability, and/or sustainability.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Intrapreneurs driving change within an existing Jewish organization and entrepreneurs with a big idea that could transform Jewish life in Atlanta can apply.

The Federation is proud to support:
- New projects (entrepreneurs)
- New ideas at legacy institutions (intrapraneurs)
- Local chapters of national non-profits

Propel Grants must be serving the Jewish Atlanta community.

Anything in the teen ecosystem (teens, parents of teens, and teen educators) is not eligible for Propel Grants. All teen funding is facilitated by JumpSpark.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications open January 1 and close January 28.

For consideration of FY23 funding, please complete this first part of our 3-part application by 5 PM on Friday, January 28. Part two is an invite-only, video-based component open Feb 7-25. The third and final part of this application is an interview to be conducted April, 2022 (date TBA).

Number of Grants:

The funding source anticipates supporting 8-10 projects.

Estimated Size of Grant:

New applicants are eligible for $10,000-$30,000 in funding per fiscal year. Propel grants can be renewed twice (for up to 3 years of funding) and renewal grantees are eligible for $10,000-$50,000 in funding per fiscal year.

Term of Contract:

Funds must be used during the specified grant time.
