Grants to Michigan nonprofit organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, and churches in eligible locations for activities that benefit local youth. Funding is intended to support programs and projects that address youth-related critical needs and provide opportunities for young people in the community. Funded programs must serve residents in the Coopersville Area.

The Coopersville Area Community Foundation Youth Advisory Council awards grants annually to support local programs and projects that work to expand programming and opportunities for the young people in the community.

The Youth Advisory Council is made up of high school students from the Coopersville area. CAYAC members meet during the school year to discuss and assess youth issues prevalent in the community, as well as to review grant proposals made to benefit youth in the community.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Coopersville Area Community Foundation awards grants to charitable organizations that are recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. They are also able to award grants to units of government, educational institutions, and churches that are providing services which benefit the Coopersville community.

Pre-Application Information:

CAYAC Grant Application Deadline: January 8, 2021

In the spring, CAYAC members vote on which organizations receive grant funds based on their applications, community need, and availability of funds.

Grant Application Process:

1. Contact the Coopersville Area Community Foundation
If you are interested in applying for a competitive grant, please contact Kari Fuller to discuss your proposal and determine if it aligns with the grantmaking priorities.

2. Complete a Grant Application
Upon discussion of your proposal and determination of alignment with the Coopersville Area Community Foundation, the appropriate grant application will be made available to you through the online application portal.

3. Grant Applications Reviewed
The team conducts a thorough due diligence process on all submitted grant applications. The Foundation may require a follow-up site visit made by the Grants Committee and approved by the Advisory Board.

Larger youth-focused grants may be reviewed by both the Grants Committee and the Youth Advisory Council for a co-funding opportunity.
