Grants to Canada registered charitable organizations for programs and projects that benefit at-risk youth. Funding is intended to assist organizations that provide critical support services to youth, or for small-scale capital projects to make improvements to housing facilities for homeless youth.
The Home Depot Canada Foundation is committed to taking action on youth homelessness by supporting the housing needs of Canada’s youth. As such, preference is given to projects that support the development of affordable housing and community improvement projects that benefit homeless youth. Eligible projects include small-scale affordable housing and neighborhood improvement projects that involve rebuilding, repairing, painting, refurbishing, landscaping, and planting.
The Orange Door Project Grant program will consider applications from Canadian registered charities who are dedicated to preventing and ending youth homelessness in Canada through renovation, prevention, and employment/life skills programs.
Renovations: repairs, refurbishments and/or modifications to a housing accommodation or other support facility that benefits homeless youth
Prevention: programs that reduce the likelihood that youth will experience homelessness. Alternatively, programs that support youth who have been homeless that allow them to stabilize their housing, enhance integration and social inclusion and reduce their risk of recurring homelessness. The program to which you are applying for funding must address one of the following:
Employment/Life Skills: Programs that focus on critical supportive services with an emphasis on job readiness and employment programs
