Grants to Ontario nonprofit organizations in eligible locations for a wide variety of programs that benefit the community. Funding is intended to address emerging and existing community needs, and for innovative solutions, ideas, and opportunities to improve life for local residents. Grants must provide services within Perth County, Stratford and/or St. Marys.

The Foundation will make its decisions based on the following criteria:
  • Strengthen the applicant’s and the community’s capacity
  • Have additional funding partners and/or developed strong collaborative relationships
  • Improve organizational effectiveness
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and sustainability
  • Receive volunteer support from the community
  • Build on the community’s strengths, assets, skills and resources
  • Develop leadership and self-reliance, mobilize civic participation and resources
  • Do not duplicate programs offered.

The Stratford Perth Community Foundation knows operating an organization during this past year has been difficult and many organizations will continue to experience challenges as the region moves from a pandemic crisis to a recovery phase.

In response, and in an effort to support the organizations serving the community, the Community Foundation will take into consideration funding a portion of operating expenses in their application. To be successful with this request, applicants will need to clearly demonstrate that the funding will provide an essential bridge that will aid the organization in moving towards building a more sustainable plan for the organization. All applicants should exhibit a well-thought-out plan for conducting programs and services in an environment where COVID-19 restrictions may continue to exist.

The three categories of initiatives that will be considered are:

Operational: Costs associated with the ongoing day-to-day operations of the charity. Including salaries, rent, existing programming, PPE, etc.

Programming: Costs associated with the development, delivery, or evaluation of existing or new programs. Including salaries, program materials, promotion, etc.

Capacity Building: Costs associated with strengthening a charity’s ability to deliver on its charitable mission. Including consultants, professional development, organizational assessments, etc.
