Grants to California public and private elementary and middle schools in eligible areas for hands-on gardening projects that benefit children in grades K-8. Grant funds may be used for garden plants, tools, soils, environmentally-friendly equipment, and other functional supplies. Funding is intended to enable San Diego County's children to be involved in schoolyard gardening and outdoor education.

Estimated Size of Grant:

The Grant Committee will determine the individual amounts awarded to each recipient.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Only San Diego County public and private elementary and middle schools are eligible. No preschools, high schools, or schools outside of San Diego County will be considered.

The payee must be the name of a 501 C3 nonprofit, not a person. A tax ID number must be provided.

Salaries, conferences, and garden ornamentation are not funded.

To be considered, all applications must be received via email by the deadline date of October 15, 2021.
