Grants of up to $10,000 to USA Indian tribes to improve library resources and provide professional development opportunities to library staff. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended to support federally recognized Native American tribes in improving core library services for their communities.

Each award that IMLS makes through the Native American Library Services Basic Grants program will align with one of these agency-level goals and one of its associated objectives and will contribute meaningfully to the achievement of both program and agency-level goals.
