Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $5,000 to California nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations for programs that benefit residents in eligible locations. Funding is intended to support arts and civic projects in areas such as education, recreation, health, arts education, and performing arts. Funds must serve the residents of Encinitas.

The establishment of the Community Grant Program (CGP) has supported numerous projects and programs that have enriched the five communities of Encinitas.

The CGP provides funding in two categories: 

  • Civic: Social, recreation, education, health and environment; 
  • Arts: Visual art, performing arts, arts education, literary arts, etc.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grant Request Amount will not exceed $5,000.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Organizations must be legally established with nonprofit or tax-exempt status, be based in Encinitas, or provide direct service to Encinitas residents.

Pre-proposal Conference:

A First-time Applicant Workshop via Zoom will take place on Monday, March 15, 2021, at 4:00-5:00pm.

Pre-Application Information:

Completed applications must be received at the City by 3:00pm on Thursday, April 8, 2021.

Important Dates:
- Wednesday, March 3, 2021 - Grant application for FY 2021/2022 is available.
- Monday, March 15, 2021, 4:00-5:00pm - First-time Applicant Workshop via Zoom.
- Thursday, April 8, 2021, 3:00pm - Grant application deadline.
- Wednesday, June 9, 2021, 6:00pm - City Council meeting for funding allocations.
- Thursday, June 10, 2021 - Allocation results will be emailed to all applicants.
- Monday, July 19, 2021, 4:00-5:00pm - Grant Recipient Workshop and contract review via Zoom.

This is a reimbursement program.
