Grant Description
Grants of up to $5,000 to California nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations for programs that benefit residents in eligible locations. Funding is intended to support arts and civic projects in areas such as education, recreation, health, arts education, and performing arts. Applicants must be based in Encinitas or provide direct service to Encinitas residents.

Since June 1998, the Encinitas City Council has recognized the value of an ongoing program whereby nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations have a means of requesting funding from the City to accomplish arts and civic projects.

The CGP provides funding in two categories:

  • Civic: social, recreation, education, health and environment; and,
  • Arts: visual art, performing arts, arts education, literary arts, etc.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, organizations must be legally established with nonprofit or tax-exempt status as well as be legally based in Encinitas and/or provide direct service to Encinitas residents with the project for which they seek CGP funding.
Pre-Proposal Conference
Grant applicants will have the opportunity to ask questions at the Grant Applicant Workshop on Tuesday, January 31. Email CGP@EncinitasCA.gov for a calendar invitation to attend the virtual meeting.

Estimated Size of Grant
Grants may be requested in any amount not to exceed $5,000.
Term of Contract
All funded programs must occur during the grant cycle of July 1, 2023 – June 14, 2024.
