Grants of up to $5,000 to Oswego County, New York nonprofit organizations for programs that benefit local residents. Funding is intended to support programs in arts and culture, environment and animals, education, human services, and health and civic affairs.

The Advisory Committee looks for innovative programs that address problems to be solved, or opportunities to be seized, in Oswego County. We invite proposals that:
- Suggest practical approaches to community problems
- Promote cooperation among agencies without duplicating services
- Generate community support, both professional and volunteer
- Strengthen an agency's effectiveness or stability
- Address prevention as well as remediation

The Foundation accepts grant proposals up to $5,000.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The Oswego County Community Foundation provides grants to tax-exempt, nonprofit organizations so certified by the Internal Revenue Service. Grants must benefit the residents of Oswego County.

If an organization is not recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit, municipality or school district, the applicant may identify a qualified sponsor to act as the organization’s fiscal agent. The fiscal agent must be a bonafide 501(c)(3) organization [or publicly supported organization, e.g., municipality/school district].

The Advisory Committee, as a rule, does not make grants for:
- Annual operating budgets
- Endowments
- Sectarian purposes
- Loans or assistance to individuals
- Medical or academic research

Proposals must be submitted using the online Regional Affiliate Fund application. Applicants will be notified of the Leadership Council’s decision approximately eight weeks after the deadline date. The Oswego County Community Foundation currently observes one grant round per year.
