Grants of up to $5,000 to Southern California nonprofit organizations for programs and projects focusing on education, the environment, public safety and disaster preparedness, and civic engagement in the service area. Funding is primarily intended to help meet the needs of diverse ethnic groups, seniors, people with special needs, women, low-income, and other underserved populations.

For the purposes of these grants, the service area includes a 50,000 square mile area of central, coast, and Southern California. A complete list of cities and communities in this area are available for download below.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for our Community Grants program, your nonprofit organization must meet the following criteria:

- IRS 501(c)(3) charitable status
- Serve the community without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, gender or gender identity, physical or mental disability, medical condition, marital status, or veteran status
- Make records available for regular independent external audit and make the results available to all potential contributors
- Comply with applicable laws regarding registration and reporting
- Observe the highest standards of business conduct in their relationships with the public
- Have a method by which to measure and track and report one or more program outcomes and specific results that demonstrate measurable societal impact

- Individuals
- Private charities or foundations not aligned with our four funding priorities
- Religious organizations, unless the particular program will benefit a large portion of a community without regard to religious affiliation
- Political causes, candidates, organizations, or campaigns
- Organizations whose primary purpose is to influence legislation
- Endowments or capital campaigns
- Research studies or video projects, including student films and documentaries, unless related to initiatives Edison International is already supporting
- Sports teams or activities, whether local, regional, or national
- Medical research or disease-specific initiatives
- Medical procedures for individuals
- Tickets for contests, raffles or other activities with prizes
- Promotional merchandise
- Any group whose activities are not in the best interest of Edison International, its affiliates, employees, shareholders, customers or the communities we serve.
- Donations to charities in lieu of compensation to an individual for services rendered to the Company (or any of its affiliates)
