Grant Description

Grants to Allegheny County, Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations for community gardening and beautification projects that promote greater knowledge of horticulture, stimulate interest in conservation or historical preservation, encourage community environmental education, and support participation in civic planning and planting programs.

Projects should address a community challenge, need or opportunity.

GCAC also offers volunteer support from its membership to help complete supported projects.

Organizations in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania may apply.

Pre-Application Information:

Before applying, prospective Grantees must identify a member of the Garden Club of Allegheny County to act as a sponsor for their request. After doing so, complete the application (instructions attached below).

Prospective Grantees are required to appear and present their project for review and consideration by the GCAC Grants Committee in February.

Two status reports must be sent to the Grants Committee Chair. The first is due May 31 of the year the request was submitted. The second is due at the completion of the Grant project on January 15 of the following year.

Term of Contract:

Projects must be completed by January 15 of the year following the award.
