Grants ranging from $250 to $1,250 to New York public libraries and historical societies collaborating with public libraries for the enhancement of library services in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego and Tioga Counties. An Inquiry must be received two weeks before the deadline. Funding is intended to support library programs, resources, historical exhibitions, and other exhibits.

Grant proposals will be considered for amounts from $250 and up to $1,250.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grant applications will be accepted from public libraries or historical societies in collaboration with public libraries in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego and Tioga counties.

Grant proposals for library operating and maintenance funds, reimbursed expenses, funds for existing programs where no improvement or expansion is proposed and staff salaries are specifically excluded from consideration; the purpose of the fund is to enrich rather than replace traditional tax-based support.

Pre-Application Information:

The application deadline for 2019 is Friday March 15th, 2019.

Inquiries must be received 2 weeks prior to the deadline.

If you do not have access to a computer, or if you do not feel comfortable with your on-line application skill-level, please contact Tina Barber, Program Officer. Please do not submit a paper application unless you have been instructed to do so after speaking with Tina.

Technical assistance workshops with instructions about the application process are offered for grant seekers. Interested applicants who don’t have time to attend a technical assistance workshop can still get help with the application process, including support with the online system. Applicants are welcome to call Tina Barber with any questions or concerns.

The Community Foundation Library Fund may consider matching or challenge grants.
