Grants ranging from $10,000 to $40,000 to Williamson County, Texas government agencies and nonprofit organizations for programs that serve local residents in the areas of education, health, and financial stability. Applicants must submit an LOI prior to submitting a full application.

United Way of Williamson County encourages grant requests for projects or programs that:

  • Are likely to have a substantial impact on individuals and families living in Williamson County, Texas.
  • Partner with United Way of Williamson County to provide practical solutions to the health, education, and financial stability challenges facing Williamson County residents.
  • Actively engage with others in the community to address community challenges.
  • Successfully leverage other sources of support including volunteers, funding or community involvement.
  • Work with others to eliminate or minimize duplication of services.
  • Are sustainable over time.

Program goals:

  • Education Childhood Success:
    • Children enter school ready to succeed.
    • Ensure that children are developmentally and academically prepared for secondary
      education.
  • Youth Success:
    • Ensure that youth gain the knowledge, skills, and credentials so that they are prepared for workforce and able to obtain family-sustaining employment.
  • Health-Access to Health:
    • That all people receive the benefit of medical, psychological and related knowledge and access to
      attain their best health.
    • Enable individuals and families to improve their health.
  • Financial Stability-Economic Mobility:
    • Economic mobility, or the ability of an individual or family to change their financial status, can
      have a multi-generational, positive impact on overall well-being by increasing access to quality
      healthcare, improving housing options, and broadening educational opportunities.
    • Individuals and families improve their socio-economic status.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible organizations:
-Are tax-exempt under Sections 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and units of government.
-Provide services in Williamson County, Texas.
-Advance UW's goals in the area of health, education, and financial stability.

United Way of Williamson County does not grant funds for:
-Individuals
-Endowment funds
-Scholarships
-Religious organizations for religious purposes
-Fundraising activities or events
-Umbrella funding organizations that intend to distribute funds at their own discretion
-Political lobbying or legislative activities
-Multi-year commitments

Pre-proposal Conference:

For assistance completing the LOI, an information session will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Georgetown Health Foundation. Attendance is optional and not required. However, first-time applicants, as well as previous grant recipients are strongly encouraged to attend.

-LOI deadline: February 3, 2020, by 5:00 PM
-Invitations to apply for the full grant application will be sent by email on February 18, 2020.
-Grant applications are due on March 20, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.
-Applicant presentations to the Committee: April 25, 2020.
-Recommendations made: May 2020.
-Recipients will be notified shortly thereafter.

New applicants must create an account. This account will need to be approved by UWWC before you can submit your program. Once your program is approved you will be able to complete your LOI.
