Grants of $500 to Oklahoma individual educators for research projects and training in the field of gifted and talented education. Funding is intended to advance research toward a deeper understanding of giftedness, as well as to support attendance at field-related conferences and courses.
The OAGCT Cheryl Kennedy Memorial Scholarship is intended to:
- Foster excellence within gifted and talented education.
- Promote an understanding of giftedness through research.
Training in gifted and talented education may be by means of attendance at forums such as Confratute or NAGC.

A $500 grant is awarded to a research project, or training in gifted and talented education such as Conference or National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC).
Educators eligible to receive the scholarship must be:
- Planning to participate in training in gifted and talented education.
- Proposing to implement a research project to contribute to the field of gifted and talented education.
All scholarship applications must be emailed no later than midnight January 18, 2019. Scholarship awardees will be notified no later than Feb 1st.
Along with submitting the online form, applicants need to email an additional one to three letters of recommendation or support to the Foundation. Emails need to have the award title and the applicant's name in the subject heading.
Awardees must be willing to submit an article describing the program/project for publication in the OAGCT newsletter. They must also be willing to present a workshop at the OAGCT State Conference.
