Grant to a Lycoming County, Pennsylvania nonprofit for a program or project with high community impact that will benefit a broad range and diverse group of people. Applicants are required to attend a workshop on January 20 or 21. Funding is intended for innovative and creative initiatives with with clear goals and measurable outcomes.

Preference is given to applicants that show collaboration with other nonprofits without duplicating efforts and demonstrate financial strength to ensure long-term self-sustainability, especially when seeking start-up or seed funding.

Ineligible Requests:

• Annual campaigns, endowments, general operating expenses
- Salaries for current staff positions, rent, utilities, office supplies
- Salaries for new staff for program enhancements may be considered
• Costs that were incurred prior to the anticipated grant approval date
• Operating deficits
• Re-granting
• Religious organizations may only apply through a non-secular qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for community-wide programs/projects
• School Districts and School District Foundations, Cemeteries, Volunteer Fire Companies (School Districts may apply if collaborating with one or more other Districts.)
• Clubs, sports teams or services limited to a select membership
• Loans, scholarships, fellowships, honorary awards, or travel grants

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be qualified to receive tax-exempt contributions as defined by the IRS - in the vast majority of cases, applicants will be 501(c)(3) organizations or a unit of local government described in Section 170(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code and serve the residents of Lycoming County.

• Applicants without 501(c)(3) status may work through another qualified 501(c)(3) organization that is willing to serve as a Fiscal Sponsor for the applicant.

• If partnering with other nonprofit organization(s) only one request may be submitted by those in the collaborating group.

• Requests from individuals are not considered.

Pre-proposal Conference:

Organizations planning to apply are required to attend one of the following workshops in January. Reservations are required. Call the contact to reserve a spot.

Workshops will be held at Penn College in the Mt. Laurel Room:
- Wednesday, January 20th (2:30 PM - 4:30 PM); or
- Thursday, January 21st (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
