Grants to Koochiching County, Minnesota nonprofits for programs that provide children, youth, and vulnerable populations with education, health care, emergency food and housing, and other needs. Applicants who have not applied for funding in the past year must contact the program office before filling out the application.
Local agencies can apply for funds in the following areas of interest:
1. Programs that improve academics, encourage youth development that are intervention-based, addressing issues early. This strategy will give children the best chance for successful futures.
-Targeted Issue: Children prepared to succeed in early learning
-Targeted Issue: Strengthen and increase learning and youth development efforts
-Targeted Issue: Youth substance abuse dependency and mental health issues
2.Programs that support safe, healthy and independent lives for vulnerable men, women, and children in the region.
-Targeted Issue: Support short-term healthcare and oral health services
-Targeted Issue: Support individuals and families dealing with a life-limiting or terminal illness
-Targeted Issue: Increase programming to support advocacy, safe independent living and the well-being of area seniors
-Targeted Issue: Therapeutic activities and advocacy for youth/children with developmental disabilities and their families
-Targeted Issue: Close the gap in veterans services in our rural communities
3. Programs to stabilize people in crisis through emergency food and housing services and help them become self-sufficient. Support is provided to families and individuals experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault.
-Targeted Issue: Reduce hunger and increase access to food
-Targeted Issue: Promoting a stable living environment for individuals and families
-Targeted Issue: Reduce domestic violence and sexual assault
