The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region - Times Union “Hope Fund”
Grants of up to $5,000 to New York nonprofits for after-school and summer programs for low-income and at-risk children in the Capital Region. Eligible counties include Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, and Washington.
Funding is intended to support programs that will have a significant impact on the overall quality of life for children in the region.

Organizations can apply for up to $5,000 annually.
The grant period will not exceed one year.
Applicants must qualify under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code as a nonprofit organization or operate under the fiscal sponsorship of a qualifying nonprofit organization.
Grants will not be given to individuals.
The following are generally not eligible for grants:
- Programs that the Community Foundation will have to operate.
- Scholarship or fellowship programs.
- Political, governmental or religious activities.
- Conferences and/or speakers’ expenses.
- Advertisements in programs, journals or other publications.
- Special events and other fundraising events.
- Annual appeals or membership contributions.
The deadline date is 4/11/2019 and decisions will be made by June 2019.
Grants for general operating expenses must be matched dollar-for-dollar with funding from other sources.
