Grant Description
Grants of up to $500 to Halifax Area, Nova Scotia teams of health care providers for short-term projects that promote health within their teams, units of departments. This program recognizes people’s ability to understand their own health needs and create their own solutions.

To be eligible for funding, projects must address pre-determined criteria based on annual key priorities of the Organizational Health Department. Ideas must be generated by team members versus one individual promoting an idea on behalf of a team.

Examples of grants awarded:

-Guest speakers on leisure topics
-Facilitators on how to manage your energy (not just your time)
-Team building sessions
-Resiliency training
-Mindfulness stress reduction
-Compassion fatigue sessions
-Mental health first aid sessions
-Walking/running clubs
-Activity samplers to encourage trying new and different activities
-Conflict resolution sessions
-Music and art therapy

The 2016 Organizational Health Grant Application Period begins on January 6, 2016 and closes on January 29, 2016 at 11:59 PM.

All applicants (financial and key contacts only) will be notified via email by March 2016 on whether or not their project received funding. If funded, access to funds by reimbursement begins once Signing Authority and Accountability Statement paper work is received.

Estimated Size of Grant
Up to $500.

Term of Contract
Teams will have 12 months (April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017) to spend money awarded this year.
