Grants to Massachusetts nonprofit organizations that increase the quality of life for residents of Chatham. Priority will be given to organizations that address the environment, children's needs, hunger, and other social needs, such as economic security, transportation, healthy aging, and housing.
The Chatham Fund supports nonprofits that are responsive to community needs and opportunities, work in collaboration with others, think innovatively in their solutions, and work strategically to enhance the quality of life in Chatham.
Factors considered when reviewing Chatham Fund proposals:
-Clear objectives relating to mission
-Evidence of experience
-Thoughtful, practical work plan
-Community need or opportunity
-Feasibility and capacity to complete the project
-Sustainability plan (if applicable)
-Ability to leverage resources
-Plan to measure impact
Chatham Fund grants will support things such as:
-Existing programs with a proven track record of success that strengthen or enhance the program
-Pilot projects and idea testing
-Program planning and development
-Organizational development and capacity building
-Events and one-time programs with specific community outcomes (e.g. educational/outreach program, symposia, and conferences)
-Small equipment to support key programs
-Communication and outreach projects (e.g. public awareness or volunteer recruitment campaigns)

The Chatham Fund supports organizations that have current status as 501(c)(3) public charities.
Organizations can be located outside of the Town of Chatham, but projects and programs must specifically support Chatham residents.
The Chatham Fund will generally not consider proposals to fund the following:
-Monuments and Memorials
