Grants averaging $5,000 to Texas nonprofit organizations for programs and capital projects that improve the lives of disadvantaged youth, typically 18 and under, in Fort Bend County. The highest priority is given to programs that address basic physical needs, though programs that address educational, emotional, recreational and other needs may be considered.
The Foundation invests in smaller and newer nonprofits that need assistance, but may not have the capacity or history to tackle large, private foundation grants and/or other fundraising mechanisms.
The Foundation supports organizations that provide the following programs or services:
- Life skills
- Child Protection
- Basic Needs
- Social Needs
Operating funds are eligible, but should not be the focus.

The average grant is $5,000.
Applications should be written for funds to be used June – December 2018.
- 501(c)(3) organizations providing programs or services targeted at improving the lives of disadvantaged youth (typically 18 and under) in our community.
- Cannot apply until previous funded Fort Bend Cares grant report has been submitted.
- Organization does not have to be based in Fort Bend County, but grant funds must serve disadvantaged children in Fort Bend County.
Applications are accepted December 1 to January 31, 2018 by 11:59 PM with board decision in May 2018.
Upon receipt of documents, you will be sent a confirmation email. If no confirmation email is received within 48 hours, please call the Foundation.
