Grants to Illinois nonprofit organizations, government agencies, public schools, IHEs, and faith-based organizations in eligible counties for activities that benefit local youth. Funding is intended to support impactful programs and projects that address the needs of local children and youth. Those organizations that include youth in the application process will be given priority in grant decisions. Funded programs must serve at least one of the four following counties: McLean, DeWitt, Livingston, and Logan.
Applicants must represent a 501 (c)(3) organization; an organization with a fiscal sponsor that is a 501 (c)(3) organization; a unit of municipal, county, state, or federal government (including public schools); a nonprofit institute of higher learning; or a tax-exempt religious organization or place of worship (programs may not proselytize for a particular religion or cause).
The Executive Director, CEO, or Board President of an organization must approve the application.
Ineligible
The funding source does not fund nonprogram-related expenses, endowment campaigns, annual fundraising events and expenses, capital improvements or expenditures, conference or continuing education expenses, or scholarships to schools or colleges/universities.
Pre-Application Information
Completed grant applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. (Central) October 31, 2023.
If you apply for a YEP grant in the fall, you may not apply for a Women to Women Giving Circle or Environment and Nature grant in the same fall cycle. You may, however, apply for a grant in the spring cycle (General, Mirza/Arts and Culture, Shulman) if the applications are for distinctly different programs.
Typically, grant periods for Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) grants run from February 1 of one year to January 31 of the next year (please check your grant agreement for full details); all money must be expended by the January 31 deadline.
If you have questions about the application or would like mentorship in completing it, please contact Michele Evans, Grants & Communications Director at IPCF, as soon as possible at 309-662-4477 or mevans@ilprairiecf.org.
