Grants of up to $10,000 per project to Frederick County, Maryland nonprofit organizations and government agencies for projects and programs that address the emergency needs of and promote the self-sufficiency of women and their dependents. Eligible dependents may include children, spouses with disabilities, grandchildren, and aging parents and family members. Funding is intended to support projects that enable and empower women in challenging situations to improve the quality of their lives and the lives of those for whom they are responsible.

Funding Priorities:
- Emergency Services: projects that provide food, shelter, medical care, and/or safety for Frederick County women and the people for whom they are responsible.
- Growth: projects that provide education, transportation, childcare, respite care, personal improvement, recovery, and self sufficiency.

Organizations may request grants of up to $10,000 per program with a maximum of $20,000 per organization per year.

Term of Contract:

The grant period is July 1, 2019 to June 1, 2020. All activities under this grant must be completed within the grant period.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Organizations that offer programs and/or services that promote self-sufficiency for women and the people for whom they are responsible in Frederick County, Maryland, are eligible to apply.

Eligible Applicants:
-A nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization;
-A government agency and/or quasi governmental agency applying for an extraordinary project that is not funded by tax revenue;
-A religious organization requesting funding for non-sectarian activities;
-A civic group that is not a 501(c)(3) organization requesting funding for a community cause.

Pre-Application Information:

The 2019 grant applications are accepted from February 11, 12:00 am to March 10, 11:59 pm. All grant applicants will receive email notification of the status of their application by June 1. Funded organizations are expected to attend the Women’s Giving Circle Tea on the afternoon of June 14, 2019.

Organizations may submit up to four proposals.

The Women’s Giving Circle grants are reimbursement based. Grantees submit reimbursement requests through their online account. All reimbursement requests must be submitted by June 3, 2020.
