Grant Description
Grants to Texas nonprofit organizations for health and wellness projects and services that benefit children and families. Applicants must submit an LOI prior to submitting a full application. Funding is intended to support programs and activities that enhance the health of children through nutrition, physical activity, disease prevention and management, and supporting safe environments.

With the dual challenges of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic and the social justice unrest in the United States, BCBSTX will continue to focus on health equity. BCBSTX will also remain deeply committed to the core purpose: To do everything to stand with our members in sickness and in health. Although access to medical care is an important piece of the puzzle, we know it’s not the only factor that determines someone’s health. A person’s and, in turn, a community’s, health outcomes are molded by other dynamics as well, including:

  • Housing
  • Nutrition (Health and Fitness)
  • Education, economic development, and employment
  • Mental health
  • Safe environment

The 2022-2023 HKHF grant cycle will place emphasis on programs that create measurable results to address the four pillars listed above. The programs should also address and account for the current public health pandemic as well as the social factors that worsen health inequalities in the community.

  • Others (see text field entitled "Additional Eligibility Criteria" for clarification)
