Grants of up to $1,500 to Texas K-12 teachers in eligible regions to enable them to enhance classroom curricula. Funding is intended for the purchase of enriching teaching materials that fall outside of school budgets. Eligible regions include the following counties that make up the Texas South Plains area: Bailey, Cochran, Crosby, Dickens, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Hockley, King, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Motley, Terry, and Yoakum.

The objective is to encourage and support teachers who have great ideas for enhancing their class curriculum that will make learning memorable for students. Mini-Grants enable the purchase of special materials and resources for the classroom and are intended to support projects that are not provided for within school budgets or through other means.

Typical grant awards range from $300 - $1,500. Depending on the project, the maximum may exceed $1,500.

Term of Contract:

Unused funds must be returned to the Foundation at the end of the school year for which the grant was awarded.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

All South Plains region K-12 teachers are encouraged to apply. Eligibility includes public schools and non public schools recognized by the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC) and the Commissioner of Education. No more than one grant will be awarded per teacher per year.

Mini-Grant for Teachers applications will not be considered for:
-Renovation of facilities;
-Religious activities or teachings;
-Equipment that is not an integral part of the project;
-Non-academic projects;
-Trips out of this region; or
-Tuition for special classes
-Pre-K Classes
