Grants to Georgia nonprofit organizations for community benefit programs and projects in Macon and Bibb County. Funding is intended for projects that focus on the areas of arts and culture, health, human services, education, and community development. Successful projects will demonstrate measurable and lasting results, as well as collaboration with other nonprofit organizations to provide innovative, efficient approaches to solving community issues.

Focus Areas:

Community Development Priorities:
- Projects that improve and enhance the quality of life and the economic well-being of Central Georgia.
- Projects that attract and retain residents and local businesses.
- Grants that make a significant economic impact on Macon-Bibb.
- Ideas that generate tourism revenue.
- Projects that increase community engagement.
- Projects that encourage philanthropy and volunteerism.
- Ideas that leverage large-scale community improvement.
- Organizations which collaborate.

Education Priorities:
- Nonprofit higher education institutions in Macon-Bibb County.
- Education programs whose purposes have measurable and lasting results on Macon-Bibb County.
- Creation of premier education opportunities for all.
- Innovative approaches to solving community problems.

Arts and Culture Priorities:
- Arts and Cultural institutions and initiatives in Macon-Bibb.
- Arts and Cultural projects whose purposes have measurable and lasting results on Macon-Bibb.
- Sustainable historic preservation.
- Innovative approaches to solving community problems.

Health Priorities:
- Capital projects better serving patients in Central Georgia
- Macon-Bibb health organizations that improve health access and outcomes
- Health programs whose purposes have measurable and lasting results on Macon-Bibb
- Lifesaving services for the community

Human Services Priorities:
- Nonprofit organizations actively working to improve the human condition of the less fortunate
- Urgent needs-based programs whose purposes have measurable results on Macon-Bibb
- Adult and family services that assist with basic needs
- Critical quality of life issues and solutions in Macon-Bibb
- Increases regional philanthropy and volunteerism
- Poverty innovation and intervention
- Organizations willing to collaborate.

Multi-year grants are available.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants will be made only to organizations which are qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code to receive charitable contributions and which are organizations to which charitable contributions may be made under the provisions of Section 170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code as such sections are modified by Section 2055(a) and 2522(a) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Grants that benefit Macon and Bibb County, Georgia are eligible. Grant applications from out of state will not be considered.

Grants are usually not awarded for the following:
- General operations; however, grants for specific operational purposes, such as initial start-up funds, may be considered. In such cases, the organization is required to document organizational capacity, sustainability, and the achievement of measurable results for the future.

- Sports-Related Events
- Endowments
- Churches
- Festivals and Trips
- Sponsorships

Please Note:
- No loans or grants to individuals.
- No grant may be used for political lobbying.

- General Operations
- Individual Medical Research Projects
- Statewide initiatives

Human Services - The following are typically not funded:
- Direct financial relief
- Endowments
- Event Sponsorships
- General Operations
- Human services outside of Macon-Bibb
- Individuals
- Statewide initiatives

Pre-Application Information:

Frequency of Requests:
- Application deadlines are April 1st and August 1st. Applications for the April 1, 2019 deadline open January 21, 2019.
- Organizations may not apply for funding more frequently than once every 12 months.
- Organizations that are funded are not eligible to apply for additional funding for at least 24 months.
- Organizations receiving multi-year grants may not re-apply until 12 months after the last grant payment has been made.

The Foundation may require additional information, an interview or a site visit. If a proposal clearly is not within the giving interest of the Foundation, the applicant will be notified immediately.
