Delta Dental of Virginia Foundation (DDVAF)
Grants to Virginia nonprofit organizations and clinics for projects related to dental care. Applicants are required to submit an LOI prior to submitting a full application. Eligible areas of funding include clinical practice initiatives, the integration of oral health and general health, and equitable models of care.
Funding is provided for new initiatives, to sustain ongoing treatment of existing programs, start-up funding, or one-time events that will include one or more of the following Foundation grant criteria.
Equitable models of care: Delta Dental believes everyone deserves a healthy smile, regardless of their age, race, gender, socioeconomic status, or zip code. These initiatives will bring changes to address social determinants of health, reduce disparities for specific populations, improve accessibility to dental services, and address health equity at the system level.
Innovation in Clinical Practice: These initiatives may include implementing practices such as teledentistry, minimally invasive dental care, and workforce changes; or determining other methods of transforming the way dental care is delivered.
Integrate medical and dental care: Oral health is tied closely with overall health, and dental professionals must continue to bring the two together to achieve better outcomes. These initiatives may include: upgrade EDR, update workflow/process to promote care coordination, develop referral program for social support, and increase integration activities.
