Hillsborough County, Office of Neighborhood Relations, and the Public Utilities Department
09/30/18 - Applications are accepted on a continuous basis through the deadline and are due at least 30 days prior to the event.
In-kind grants to Hillsborough County, Florida neighborhood and homeowner associations, crime watch programs, and special taxing districts for community cleanup events. Events are intended to engage residents in preserving neighborhood property values, upkeeping their communities, and reducing factors that contribute to crime. The program encourages members of neighborhood associations to conduct clean-up projects in their community.
The Department invites neighborhood leaders to propose projects that will beautify their area and provide residents an opportunity to dispose of large household items not eligible for normal trash pick-up. Residents must provide the labor as an in-kind contribution to proposed projects.
Applications must identify a specific area for cleanup and give evidence of resident involvement and concurrence.
Things to Consider:
-The Department will award a maximum of 5 roll-off dumpsters per application
-The bins are strictly for homeowners
-Commercial services or sub-contractors can't dump any items
-Refrigerators, ovens, water heaters, steel and other metals, furniture, construction debris, and tires. Separate all items by type and placed into separate roll-off trash bins.
-You can dispose of yard waste, if you order a separate container for it. Do not put yard waste in plastic bags. If there are any plastic bags for the yard waste, the Department will not pick-up that roll-off.
-Put appliances and other metal items in one roll-off.
-Place appliances containing Freon either in a separate container, or grouped in one area of the appliance container.
