Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $75,000 to Maine nonprofit and for-profit organizations, government agencies, IHEs, and individuals to support conservation projects. Applicants must complete the required registrations prior to applying. Funding is intended to develop and adopt innovative conservation technologies and approaches. The goal of the grant program is to address pressing natural resource conservation concerns, and to enhance environmental protection and quality in conjunction with agricultural production.

Under CIGs, Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) funds are used to award competitive grants to non-Federal governmental entities.  All proposed CIG projects must involve EQIP-eligible producers.  CIG enables NRCS to work with other public and private entities to accelerate technology transfer and adoption of promising technologies and approaches to address some of the most pressing natural resource concerns.
