Fellowships to Shreveport, Louisiana individual artists working in dance, literature, music, theater, visual arts, and/or multidisciplinary disciplines to assist them in pursuit of their artistic goals. These fellowships are non-matching cash awards to acknowledge distinguished Fellows of the highest caliber in each discipline of the arts.
Artist Fellowships are available to artists selected from each of six disciplines. Applicants must designate a specific arts discipline in which to be considered. The disciplines and examples of the types of categories of art within the discipline include the following:
-Dance: Performance or Choreography
-Literature: Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Poetry
-Music: Vocal Performance, Instrumental Performance, Composition
-Theater: Playwriting, Acting, Directing, Spoken Word
-Visual Arts: Please refer to the application for a full list.
-Multidisciplinary: An Artist that demonstrates proficiency in 2 or more disciplines of Art.

Applicants should have demonstrated professional experience in their fields, with a serious career commitment and some degree of peer acceptance, either as emerging artists of outstanding promise or as established artists with a body of work.
The applicant must be a legal resident of Shreveport, Louisiana, and must have been domiciled and actually resided in the City for at least the preceding 24 months prior to the application deadline. Or the artist may have owned taxable property (studio space) in the City of Shreveport for at least 24 consecutive months.
Students or persons enrolled in an arts-related degree or certificate-granting program at the grant deadline are not eligible to apply.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
No artist may submit more than one SRAC fellowship application per application year.
Previous recipients of Shreveport Regional Arts Council Artist Fellowships are not eligible to apply again under the same art discipline for seven (7) years.
The Shreveport Regional Arts Council encourages former applicants who have not received a fellowship to reapply.

Registration, Resume, Artist Statement and Samples of Work must be submitted online by Thursday, June 29, 2017, 4:00 p.m. Applications including completed online submissions received after the deadline are ineligible.
Faxed or emailed applications will not be accepted.
Artists must submit online samples of work with their application. See instructions for preparation of samples of work. Each discipline has a separate set of instructions for submitting samples.
