American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP)
Grants of up to $5,000 to USA nonprofit organizations, institutions, and public and government agencies to cover the costs associated with hosting a speaker on the topic of patient safety. Funding is intended for a lecture that will advance patient safety through the exploration of innovation in health systems management.
Funding is intended to cover speaker travel and accommodation expenses, honorarium costs associated with the delivery of a patient safety lecture, and/or meeting materials.

AAKP may award more than one grant per grant cycle.
Up to $5,000
The following organizations are eligible to apply for the grant:
- 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) organizations as determined by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)
under Section 170 of the U.S. Code
- Public and government agencies, organizations and institutions
Previous recipients of this grant may submit again in subsequent grant cycles, as long as they continue to meet the eligibility requirements.
- Political or lobbying organizations
- Fraternal, athletic or social organizations
- Religious organizations for religious purposes
- Private foundations
- Organizations located outside the United States
- Organizations that discriminate against others based on age, race, ethnicity, religious preference, sexual orientation, physical and mental abilities, etc.
The deadline for grant applications for the 2018 calendar year is July 31, 2017. Applicants will be notified of decisions no later than November 1, 2017.
