Grants of up to $50,000 to USA, Canada, and International researchers for research on migraine headaches. Funding is intended to support research to improve treatments, discover causes, find cures, and on migraine disorders. Applications are invited for transformational projects with the potential to enhance the quality of life for those suffering from migraines.

While MRF welcomes all proposals relevant to basic or clinical migraine research, particular interest is given to translational projects and those related to migraine variants, childhood migraine, and chronic migraine.

All grants must be used exclusively for research and directly related research equipment.

Estimated Size of Grant:

A maximum of $50,000 will be awarded for each grant.

Term of Contract:

The expected project duration is one year.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applications are accepted from researchers at institutions around the world.

Capital expenditures, administrative costs, institutional overhead including IRB approval, publication costs and travel costs will not be funded.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be received by 5:00 PM EDT August 3, 2018 to be considered for this round of funding.

The proposals will be reviewed by the Migraine Research Foundation’s Medical Advisory Board (MAB) in consultation with the Association of Migraine Disorders (AMD). Once the review is complete, the MAB will advise MRF’s Board of Directors, which will make the final decision about the awarding of grants. MRF expects to notify grant recipients by the end of the year.
