Grants of $1,000 to Iowa K-8 teachers in eligible counties for initiatives or supplies that will enhance the academic environment and performance in the classroom. Funding is intended to enable teachers to purchase items that may otherwise prove unaffordable, including classroom supplies, technology, equipment, field trips, and more.

Applications will be judged based on the following criteria:

- Does the project enhance the academic environment in the classroom and contribute toward academic achievement among the teacher’s students?
- Does the project have compelling, creative or unique features which makes it stand out from traditional approaches to classroom teaching?
- Are the project costs adequately detailed in the essay/proposal?
- If funded with a grant, would the project have the support of the school’s administration?

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

K-8 teachers who teach at registered Iowa Department of Education schools within the 33 counties of Greater Iowa Credit Union’s membership area may apply.

This includes teachers in the following counties: Adair, Audubon, Boone, Butler, Calhoun, Carroll, Clarke, Crawford, Dallas, Franklin, Greene, Grundy, Guthrie, Hamilton, Hardin, Harrison, Ida, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Monona, Polk, Poweshiek, Sac, Shelby, Story, Tama, Warren, Webster, Woodbury, and Wright.
