Request a Grant Writer

Grants of up to $500 to West Orange County, Florida middle school teachers for science materials, equipment, and STEM books and ebooks, to strengthen science students' learning experiences. Applications will be considered from science teachers employed at the following qualifying middle schools in West Orange County:
- Bridgewater
- Carver
- Gotha
- Lakeview
- Ocoee
- Robinswood
- SunRidge
- Windy Ridge

Preference is given to creative, well-written proposals that clearly and comprehensively describe classroom and student needs.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Each school science chair may apply for up to $500 per science teacher.

Term of Contract:

Funds must be spent by December 7, 2018.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Any science teacher in good standing from the following middle schools in the West Orange County area is eligible to apply:
- Bridgewater
- Carver
- Gotha
- Lakeview
- Ocoee
- Robinswood
- SunRidge
- Windy Ridge

Awards Will Not Cover:
- Honorariums, salaries, stipends or substitute teachers
- Field trips or transportation
- Food (unless part of an experiment)
- Subscriptions
- Technology

Pre-proposal Conference:

Foundation Impact Grant Writing Workshops offer OCPS teachers help in writing a Foundation specific grant - project planning, creating budgets, defining success and measuring outcomes. Participants learn how to avoid common mistakes. Specific questions related to Foundation grants will be addressed.
