Grants to Thousand Oaks, California nonprofit organizations for capital projects benefitting local sports teams and groups. Funding is intended for the construction of sports facilities benefitting a broad cross section of local residents. Examples of projects supported through this program include the Westlake High School football stadium, Thousand Oaks High School swimming pool, Conejo Creek South soccer fields, and the Conejo Equestrian Park new ring and pen.

Grants may be limited to a maximum of $200 per individual team member of the benefitting organization. A larger grant may be awarded if the Community Funding Review Committee and the City Council consider the nature and scope of the project warrants such funding.

Funding in consecutive years is acceptable if a clear, community, philanthropic, or public benefit is demonstrated.

Only requests from qualified 501(c)(3) organizations within the meaning of section 509(a) of the IRS code will be reviewed.

This program cannot fund individuals or for-profit organizations.

Capital improvement projects must be constructed within the boundaries of the City of Thousand Oaks.

Requests for funds must be for future capital improvements and not for reimbursement of funds expended on a past project. Funds will not be awarded until the project is ready to go for construction and bids have been awarded.

Organizations receiving a Sports Facilities Endowment Fund grant will be required to provide at least one hundred percent (100%) match to the City's grant (defined as Organization funding of 50% or greater of the project cost).

Evidence of property owner's permission for construction of capital improvement must be included with application.

Applications are accepted August 1, 2017 - September 29, 2017, 5:00 PM.
