Texas Medical Association Foundation (TMAF)
Grants of up to $7,500 to Texas medical societies and alliance chapters, and grants of up to $3,000 to Texas medical student chapters for programs and projects that promote health. Funding is intended to support initiatives that reflect the Foundation's priorities in the areas of public health and science, as well as it's organizational areas of focus in population health, medical education, and quality of care.

Society and alliance chapters may apply for up to $7,500 in matching funds from the TMAF Medical Community Grant Program.
Medical student chapters may apply for up to $3,000 in matching funds from the TMAF Medical Student Community Leadership Grants Program.
Each year TMAF accepts applications from county medical societies, alliance chapters, and medical student chapters for community health improvement programs.
- Applications received by Aug. 15 will be considered for grant funding on Sep. 15, 2017.
- Applications by Dec. 15 will be considered for grant funding on Jan. 25, 2018.

Please note that these are matching grants. Matching funds can be comprised of money, time, volunteers, or in-kind supporting services from your organization or partners.
Volunteer time is considered an in-kind donation. To calculate the value of volunteer time, the Independent Sector volunteer time currently values an hour of volunteer time at $24.14. If you have three volunteers donating 10 hours each, the donated hours equal $724.20 (30 hours x $24.14).
Applicants must place an actual or reasonable estimate of the dollar value of all non-cash resources. For example, if video production services are being donated at no cost, provide the figure of what normally would be charged and the name of the company or person donating the service.
This total must equal or exceed the amount requested from TMAF.
