Grants to Marion County, Ohio nonprofit organizations for a range of activities that benefit local residents. Applicants are encouraged to evaluate their requests and to consider how the grant will significantly impact local residents. The Foundation invites proposals for transformative and proactive programs.

Marion Community Foundation's Community Grants Program seeks to meet known needs and move the community forward. The Grants Committee will entertain applications from nonprofits with the hope of solving the over-riding issues in the Marion community. The Foundation offers grant dollars to envision, tackle, collaborate, or act upon problems aggressively. Nonprofits are challenged to think differently and propose ways to solve community issues with these grants.

Funds will be available October 2017 through September 2018.

Generally, grants are awarded for one-year terms. If multi-year program funding is necessary, the Foundation strongly encourages you to discuss the grant proposal with the Marion Community Foundation staff in advance of the application.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Marion Community Foundation makes grants to tax-exempt 501(c)3 organizations or the equivalent. This determination is defined by an IRS tax determination status. Applicants must provide proof of this status.

The Foundation cannot make grants to individuals, for-profit organizations, or others not meeting the tax-exempt status. If you are not a 501(c)3 but have a grant idea, the Foundation encourags you to consider collaborations, community relationships, or sponsoring organizations. Call the Foundation if you would like to discuss further.

Generally, the Marion Community Foundation does not support: a) membership or annual drives, b) community services such as police, fire protection, EMS, water and sanitation, maintenance, c) standard school sponsored programs, or d) standard event sponsorships.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline to apply is July 20, 2017, 5:00 PM EDT.

It is anticipated the review process will be complete at the end of September and grant awards will be announced around October 1, 2017.
