Request a Grant Writer

Grants ranging from $1,000 to $20,000 to nonprofits in eligible regions of Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Texas, Iowa, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama for programs that empower at-risk youth and help them overcome barriers. Both the expansion of existing programs and establishment of new programs are eligible for funding.

Successful programs will further the Foundation’s mission of “empowering at-risk youth to overcome barriers to opportunity.”

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants typically range from $1,000 to $20,000.

Term of Contract:

Grants are made for one year only.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The grant cycle is open to any nonprofit agency working within the foundation’s geographical service area of southwest Missouri or areas of IDF, IsoNova or FITCO company operations.

Geographic eligibility:
Counties in Southwest Missouri: Barry, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Greene, Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, Polk, Stone, Taney, Webster.

Other communities that host operating facilities for FITCO and IsoNova, including: Anniston, AL (Calhoun and Talladega counties); Cumming, GA (Forsyth County); Eden Valley, MN (Meeker and Stearns Counties); Forest, MS (Scott County); Hanceville, AL (Cullman County); Lillington, NC (Harnett County); Spencer, IA (Clay County); Social Circle, GA (Walton and Newton counties); and Texarkana, TX (Bowie county).

Foundation grants are not awarded to the following:
- For-profit organizations
- Projects of outside the Foundation’s mission
- Capital campaigns
- Organizations whose policies or practices discriminate on the basis of gender, race, religion, ethnic origin, or sexual orientation
- Political campaigns
- Funding for loan payments

Pre-Application Information:

Semiannual grant application deadlines are March 15 and September 15 yearly.

The Foundation will only consider one grant request from your organization at each application deadline.

The Foundation seeks opportunities to visit with prospective grantees. They also visit current grantees to review program operation and impact.
