Grants of up to $5,000 to USA leftist activists, researchers, and writers for work that advances critical issues in the study of the world, its people, their communities, cultures, and economies, as well as their interaction with the environment. Proposed work can address issues ranging from geopolitics to cultural and economic issues, to political ecology.
The main criteria on which proposals are examined include:
- Radical potential of the work
- Effectiveness of the proposal
- Eventual contribution to Human Geography journal
- Past commitment to Human Geography (article, subscription, review of article, etc.)

Grants are made to USA individuals to support radical activism, research, and writing.
Applications consisting of the requested materials outlined in the URL for Full Text below will be reviewed by a Committee consisting of the Editor, the Web Editor, the Book Review Editor and the Opinions Editor.
The entire application should go in one PDF attachment of no more than ten pages, and should be submitted before two annual deadlines of April 15 and October 15.
