Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation (SFACF)

Grants totaling approximately $20,000 to Sioux Falls area, South Dakota nonprofit organizations for projects and programs that assist economically and socially disadvantaged people in improving their circumstances. Funding is intended to help individuals of good character* overcome obstacles** so that they may achieve their potential.
*Good character may be evidenced by efforts to gain self-reliance or enhance education, a strong work ethic, good stewardship of available resources, or community involvement.
**Examples of obstacles include cultural differences, including those of immigrants, refugees, and Native Americans; minority status, including women and girls; and those disadvantaged by disease, physical condition, or economic circumstances.
- Proposals may be for new or existing programs.
- Proposals may cover total activity costs or some portion thereof.
- Proposals must serve the greater Sioux Falls area.
The amount available for distribution this year is approximately $20,000. All or some portion of this amount may be awarded in one, two, or several grants as determined by SFACF.

Typically, SFACF makes awards to nonprofit organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status that are undertaking projects that benefit the people of the greater Sioux Falls area.
Applications are due August 31 at 11:59 PM CDT (midnight).
Grant recipients will be announced in September.
