Grants of up to $5,000 to Maine and New Hampshire schools, colleges, and universities for recycling and sustainable waste management programs. Funding is intended for projects that will reduce solid waste and increase recycling and composting. Examples include purchasing in-school recycling bins or education materials, offsetting compost hauling fees, and paying toward bussing fees to enable schools to participate in tours of ecomaine.

Eligibility:
- The school must serve students that live in a municipality served by or affiliated with ecomaine.
- The School may be public or private and of any grade levels (including post-high school).
- The school must be willing to freely share its program and results with other shools for replication purposes.

Ineligible:
- Grant monies will not be awarded to Individuals.

Schools in any of the 57 communities served by the Foundation are eligible to apply for the grants:

Contract Members: Andover, Carmel, Cornish, Eliot, Etna, Greenland (New Hampshire), Hampton (New Hampshire), Jay, Kittery, Limerick, Livermore Falls, Manchester, Monmouth, Newburgh, Newington (New Hampshire), North Haven, Old Orchard Beach, Poland, Readfield, Sanford, Stetson, Stockton Springs, Swan’s Island, Waterville, and Wayne.

Applications may be sent electronically, by fax or by email.

Grant monies will be dispersed:
1. Eighty percent (80%) upon initial award.
2. Ten percent (10%) upon completion of the midterm project report.
3. Ten percent (10%) upon completion of the final project report.
