Grants of up to $10,000 to Massachusetts nonprofit organizations for programs and projects that promote, support, and provide increased access to arts and cultural activities in eligible regions. Funding is intended to support arts and cultural programs that celebrate creative expression, foster an appreciation of diversity, and preserve the area’s collective history and heritage.

For the purposes of these grants, the MetroWest region includes the following 33 Cities and Towns: Acton, Ashland, Boxborough, Carlisle, Concord, Dedham, Dover, Framingham, Harvard, Holliston, Hopkinton, Hudson, Lexington, Lincoln, Marlborough, Maynard, Medfield, Medway, Milford, Millis, Natick, Needham, Sherborn, Southborough, Stow, Sudbury, Walpole, Waltham, Wayland, Wellesley, Westborough, Weston, and Westwood.

Specifically, the Foundation encourages proposals that focus on:

- Visual and/or performing arts education for all individuals
- Performance series that resonate with changing audiences (Note: Single performances will not be considered.)
- Gallery exhibitions or programming
- Historic preservation of cultural landmarks in the region

Capacity building grants will also be considered.

Grants of up to $10,000 are awarded.

One-year grants are awarded.

Applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) organizations serving the MetroWest region, as defined as the following 33 Cities and Towns: Acton, Ashland, Boxborough, Carlisle, Concord, Dedham, Dover, Framingham, Harvard, Holliston, Hopkinton, Hudson, Lexington, Lincoln, Marlborough, Maynard, Medfield, Medway, Milford, Millis, Natick, Needham, Sherborn, Southborough, Stow, Sudbury, Walpole, Waltham, Wayland, Wellesley, Westborough, Weston, and Westwood.

Organizations must operate such that they do not discriminate in the hiring of staff or the provision of services on the basis of race, religion, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or disability.

Grants are not awarded to town agencies, individuals or schools (private, public, pre-K, charter, or Chapter 766).

It is recommended that new organizations register for office hour times slots; this is a one-on-one meeting with a member of the program team.

If your organization has applied for funding in a prior cycle, please use the same account that was previously used. Directions to reset your password are provided on the logon page.

Timeline:

Proposals must be submitted online by 5:00pm on Monday, August 7, 2017. Late applications will not be considered.

Notifications will be made at the beginning of December. Grants are awarded at an Awards Ceremony on Monday, December 11th at 5:30pm at the Weston Community Center.

Special Note for Prior Grantees:

New funding is contingent upon the applicant’s successful evaluation and reporting of past grant awards from the Foundation for MetroWest. Applications will not be considered if any prior year reporting has not been completed. Final Report forms are available by logging into your online account.
