Grants and in-kind support to West Virginia schools for student activities that promote the sport of archery. Priority will be given to new archery programs, but existing programs are also eligible. Funding is intended to purchase equipment essential to the program. Programs are intended to preserve, promote, and protect the bowhunting heritage throughout the state.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants in money and/or equipment will be determined based upon the school's needs as outlined in the application.

Term of Contract:

Existing programs may apply for continuation grants.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

For an application to be considered, a school or group must have a Certified Basic Archery Instructor (BAI) or Basic Archery Instructor Trainer (BAIT) on staff, or a staff member currently enrolled in a WV Division of Natural Resources AIS training session and said person must complete the course before the funding/equipment will be provided.

The West Virginia Bowhunters Association shall not discriminate in awarding its Archery in the Schools Grants due to race, creed, color, disability, sex or national origin nor shall it discriminate in any other practices of the organization.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications will be accepted beginning on January 1 with deadline of July 31.

If the applicant is a public or private school, written approval of the school's faculty senate must be included.

The WVBA reserves the right to act as the purchasing agent with the equipment being shipped direct to the school contact on the application. Schools will be notified of their grant award.
