The Hamber Foundation
Grants to British Columbia educational or charitable organizations and institutions for programs related to health and welfare, educational resources, culture and creative arts, and amateur athletics. Funding is intended for projects that take place in the Province of British Columbia.
Grants have helped schools, libraries, art galleries, hospitals, crafts organizations, opera associations, dance companies, symphony orchestras, theater, youth programs, and choirs. Hamber assistance has been provided to disabled athletes, to libraries for books and tapes, theater companies to conduct school tours, fund scholarships, bursaries and awards, furnish sports equipment for children and adolescents, purchase equipment for a hospital nursery, buy pianos for music schools, restore historical sites, foster summer arts festivals, purchase treatment equipment for the handicapped, seniors’ centers and activities, fund the cost of sending deaf preschoolers to summer camp, mount art exhibitions for young people, and fund medical research. The list of projects is as wide-ranging as the interests and needs of the people throughout the cities, towns and communities of British Columbia.

Grants are awarded only to institutions and organizations registered as “educational” or “charitable” under the Canadian Income Tax Act and which are in possession of a registration number in good standing at the date of application.
Grants are normally restricted to projects arising and undertaken in the Province of British Columbia.
