Specifically, the Foundation awards grants for events, programs, projects, and activities that:

- Encourage local philanthropy
- Serve vulnerable populations

- Create or preserve community assets (both physical and heritage assets)
- Encourage citizen community involvement
- Foster conversations about community affairs
- Facilitate volunteerism and/or leadership
- Improve community communications
- Increase civic pride and community spirit
- Facilitate community building

Whether the project is well-established, just getting off the ground, or needs incubation, the Foundation welcomes both innovative and tried and true ideas for enhancing the community.
