Grants typically ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 to USA and Canada nonprofits and schools in multiple cities, counties, and states to provide services, support, and resources to those with autistic family members. LOIs must be submitted by August 31, 2017, for applicants requesting multi-year project support.

The priorities of the Foundation are to meet families' needs by ensuring access to services, active lifestyles, and adult independence for those with autism living in the following geographic locations:

USA:
- Massachusetts and other New England States including Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Connecticut;
- New York;
- New Jersey;
- Southern California, including San Diego County, Los Angeles County, and Orange County
- Central Florida, including Marion, Volusia, Sumter, Lake, Seminole, Orange, Osceola, and Brevard counties

Canada:
- Cities of Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver.

Educational and advocacy programs that serve on the national level are also accepted.

Priorities for each of the above focus areas are as follows:

1. Access to Services:
Funding for community organizations and schools that are providing vital resources and actively assisting children with autism spectrum disorder and their families through education and technology, advocacy programs, diagnostic and clinical services, direct family support, safety equipment, emergency care, respite services, and other opportunities that will enhance the quality of life for those affected.

2. Active Lifestyle:
Support for recreational and sports programs, aquatic programs, social skills training, family events, and summer camps for all individuals on the autism spectrum.

3. Adult Community-Based Services:
Providing opportunities for job training, vocational skills programs, employment, housing, transportation, and healthcare delivery for adults on the autism spectrum.

The average grant size will be in the $10,000 to $20,000 range. Please do not request more than $20,000.

Requests for multi-year grants (up to three years) will be considered.

Support must be made through IRS approved 501 (c)(3) organizations and qualified schools who provide services, family support grants, and resources to families.

Restrictions:
- Requests for capital campaigns and endowments will not be considered.
- Indirect Costs of up to 15% of the total project budget will be considered for funding. Anything over 15% will not be considered.
- Requests for related technology will not be accepted through our annual grant cycle. Examples include SMARTBoards, Robots, iPads and Apps.
- General Operating requests are restricted to autism-specific organizations.

Grant Cycle Opens: July 5, 2017
Deadline: Friday, September 29
Grant recipients announced: December 8

Requests for multi-year grants (up to three years) only apply to previous Flutie Foundation Grant Recipients. Requests will be considered upon receipt of letter of inquiry by August 31, 2017, 5:00 PM EST. Letter of inquiry guidelines are attached below.

If you are requesting $5,000 or less, please choose this option under “Amount Requested” and follow the instructions on the application.
