Grants ranging from $500 to $4,000 to Northeast Iowa nonprofit organizations and government agencies for educational and environmental programs in Mitchell and Howard Counties. Funding is intended to support organizations that strive to meet crucial community needs in these two areas.
Improving the quality of education through support of both public and private institutions of learning. Providing opportunities for children to learn and experience things they may not ordinarily be able to do.
-Environment Education and Protection:
Supporting conservation of natural resources, preventing and eliminating pollution, preserving water quality, protecting wildlife, and educating the public about environmental priorities. Providing opportunities for experiencing nature and outdoor recreation.

Typically, the Fund distributes a small number of grants (1-5) per year.
Minimum grant request is $500 and maximum grant request is $4,000.
To be eligible for a grant, applicants must be 501(c)(3), tax-exempt nonprofit organizations or government entities in good standing with the IRS, and the projects must benefit the residents of Mitchell and/or Howard Counties. Charitable projects conducted by tax-exempt organizations classified as other than 501(c)(3) may also be eligible.
Nonprofit organizations providing an educational component within their programming are also eligible to apply.
For groups, projects, or initiatives that are not classified by the IRS as 501(c)(3), tax-exempt nonprofit organizations or government entities, the Foundation will consider requests if submitted through a fiscal sponsor. Fiscal sponsors must be classified as a 501(c)(3) or a government entity. The Foundation prefers that the fiscal sponsor’s mission closely align with the sponsored project.
