Grants ranging from $2,500 to $20,000 to Lake County, Florida nonprofits for programs that support and assist abused children and intellectually disabled people of all ages. Scholarships are also available to assist mentally challenged students that attend educational institutions, including nursery schools, high schools, colleges, universities, and vocational-technical schools.

Funding will be provided for programs, scholarships, and general operating expenses.

The average grant size is between $2,500 and $20,000.

The Trustees shall consider all qualified applications received from organizations that are exempt from taxation under the Internal revenue Code Sections 501 (c) (3) and 509. The Matthew A. and Mildred Hunter Foundation has generally restricted its funding to organizations located or operating in Lake County, Florida.

No grants will be for capital projects.

The Foundation’s Trustees meet annually in December. October 31 is the deadline for submitting grant proposals to be considered at the annual meeting.
