Grants to North Carolina nonprofit organizations for programs or projects that will directly impact the health of residents in eligible communities. Applicants must submit a Letter of Intent prior to applying. Funding is intended to support programs that align with the Foundation's mission to promote health in the region, support the healthcare community, and assist individuals with healthcare needs. Eligible programs take place within the counties of Craven, Jones, Pamlico, Carteret, and Onslow.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Proposals must be sponsored by a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The Foundation will not support salaries, events, or indirect and promotional-type requests for support (i.e., sporting events such as golf tournaments, drink cups, walk-a-thons, etc).

Pre-Application Information:

The CarolinaEast Foundation has two grant cycles per year. Each nonprofit organization can make one request per year. Nonprofits must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) before requesting a full grant proposal. After a review of an organization's Letter of Intent, the Foundation will notify the organization if they have been approved to submit a full grant proposal.

Second Grant Cycle FY 2021
- Letter of Intent Deadline: May 14, 2021
- Organizations notified if approved to submit a full proposal: June 4, 2021
- Full grant proposal packet due: July 16, 2021
- Grant Payout: August 31, 2021

First Grant Cycle FY 2022
- Letter of Intent Deadline: October 15, 2021
- Organizations notified if approved to submit a full proposal: November 5, 2021
- Full grant proposal packet due: December 10, 2021
- Grant Payout: February 2022

Grant applications will soon be available online. If you received an invitation to submit a full grant, a link to the application will be provided. The Foundation will notify your organization within three weeks if your organization has been approved to submit a full proposal. An invitation for a full proposal does not guarantee funding.
