Grants ranging from $5,000 to $15,000 to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations, government agencies, public schools, and universities for projects in the areas of health, poverty alleviation, environment, and education. The Foundation seeks opportunities such as new programs, pilot programs, evaluations, and capacity building efforts.
In most cases, the Foundation initially will make grants to support individual projects only. After the first year, if continued funding is approved, a portion of the grants may be designated for capacity building efforts.

Grants normally range from $5,000 to $15,000.
The Foundation normally can only offer support for up to three years for each program funded.
The Tomberg Family Philanthropies only makes grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in the United States and certain government entities or public institutions in the United States such as public schools and universities.
Due to the limited size and number of grants, the Foundation normally is not able to support ongoing operations of existing programs.
The Foundation does not make grants to religious organizations or to fund projects run by religious organizations.
All organizations, including those that have received funding in the past, must submit Letters of Inquiry if they want to be considered for funding.
-August 1, 2017, 9:00 AM PDT: Letters of Inquiry will be accepted after this date.
-September 15, 2017, 5:00 PM PDT: Letter of Inquiry deadline.
-September 15, 2017, 5:00 PM PDT: Interim Progress Report due for 2017 Grantees.
-October 31, 2017: Applicants invited to submit full proposals will be notified by this date.
-December 1, 2017, 5:00 PM PST: Full proposal submission deadline, if invited.
-March, 2018: Funding notification and receipt of payment, if awarded.
